Beautiful iroko gates for a Berkshire home
Bespoke set of iroko hardwood swing gates
The clients specified a set of double entrance, close-boarded hardwood gates, which were made by our suppliers in Cheshire from sustainable sources. Iroko was chosen because of its good looks and longevity. The clients requested the gates to be hung off brick piers with pier caps. Lighting and a postbox within the pier was also a requirement, we were also asked to lay shingle to the driveway. The clients wanted to allow automatic access to a number of regular visitors.
Bespoke set of swing gates in iroko hardwood, 70mm sections, with back plate joined to leading gate leaf, ensuring no visible join between gates. Four coats of Sadolin wood preservative were applied to the finished gates. Windlesham Gates installed BFT motors as they are both robust and slim line – making them an idea solution for this project. The access control is a Videx GSM intercom in the 4000 series. Visitors dial the intercom using a mobile phone. The system checks the caller’s ID against a list of stored numbers. Assuming it matches, it then clears the call (so the caller is not charged) and activates the opening mechanism. Up to 250 numbers can be stored at any one time.
