Windlesham Gates has received accredited from Gate Safe, the charity dedicated to ensuring that all electric and automatic gates are correctly installed by properly trained engineers.
Gate Safe was set up in 2010, in the wake of two tragic incidents where children were crushed to death in automatic gates that had not been correctly fitted. It campaigns for tighter regulation of the industry and works with manufacturers of gates and gate automation equipment, installers, surveyors, architects and construction companies to ensure that existing guidelines are correctly interpreted.
Windlesham Gates is proud to announce that we’ve just been awarded the Which? seal of approval as a Which? Trusted Trader by the country’s most respected consumer organisation.
We’re one of the first electric and automatic gate companies in the country to pass the Which? assessment process to establish that we meet the high standards you’d expect from this champion of consumer rights.
Following intensive training and examinations at the end of 2014, Windlesham Gate’s managing director Lee Hilton is proud to announce that his company now has accreditation from the Institute of Health and Safety (IOSH).
This accreditation, awarded by the Door and Hardware Federation, the trade association for installers of electric and automatic gates, is confirmation that Windlesham Gates operates to the highest possible standards.
“When it comes to installing electric and automatic gates, what is most important to us is safety,” says Lee.
After the successful re-launch of our website we’re bringing a little corporate cohesion to the rest of our operation, starting with a bold new look for our Windlesham Gates vans.
Instantly recognisable, with our distinctive Windlesham Gates logo and making use of our favourite orange accent colour, we’re sure the vans will prove a hit with our customers, old and new.
No, we haven’t moved operations to eastern Europe, but Windlesham Gates has taken on a new member of staff.
Georgia Henkun joins Windlesham Gates this month to help run the office and take care of our social media. She’ll be keeping everyone updated with our doings via Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Youtube and taking care of the admin, answering the phone, dealing with enquiries and generally keeping us up the mark.
Windlesham Gates’ professionalism, quality of work and commitment to safety and staff training has been recognised by the leading trade body, the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF), which has granted the company full membership.

Surrey-based electric and automated gate installer Windlesham Gates has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor in recognition of its excellent health and safety.
Under the Safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process that examines both health and safety procedures and the company’s track record for safe practice. Windlesham Gates will now be included on a database of contractors found to meet the highest health and safety standards.
Windlesham Gates is pleased to announce they have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards and provided with the accreditation with the Buy with Confidence scheme.
The Buy with Confidence scheme was launched as a result of ‘rogue traders’ and they have partnered with the Local Authority Trading Standards Services. Trading Standards South East Ltd coordinates it centrally on behalf of the Buy With Confidence scheme operator.
Automatic gates are a great way of ensuring privacy and extra security. You might be concerned that automatic gates will require a substantial amount of servicing and maintenance but that is simply not the case.
Superior automatic gates, such as the ones we offer, have sophisticated technology which has been scrupulously tested to ensure it withstands the heavy duty force needed to operate any size and weight of automatic gates installed.
Electric gates are often a must have, especially if you are looking to protect property that has a lot of money invested in it and you wish to enhance the entrance of your property. However, they can become particularly expensive and time consuming to repair if they break. If you can’t find the right engineer or component, you could have to wait days for your gate to be fixed – this means days without the proper security and protection needed for your property.
Windlesham Gates, based in Surrey, is pleased to announce their accreditation with CHAS, the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme. Health and Safety is paramount in any gate installation and all companies carrying out these works should be too.
